A one day capacity-building workshop on menstrual hygiene and production of reusable sanitary pads has ended in kumba, headquarters of Meme Division.

The workshop organised by Regjome Outreach Association, had as training partner,Twin-Me Foundation.
It held on the theme:”The Woman’s Body.”

Over 30 girls drawn from the different neighbourhoods in kumba participated in the training workshop.

Opening the workshop, the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Regjome Outreach Association, Manju Ngwang Mercy, stated the training marked a significant milestone in their journey to make positive impact in the community.

She revealed the association has as mission not only to increase access to quality education, but also to foster entrepreneurship, promote health, and advocate for Gender Based Violence, GBV, and equity.
“We believe that every individual deserves access to opportunities that can improve their lives and contribute to the betterment of our community,” she stated.

Manju Ngwang noted it was their first activity, teaching participants to produce reusable sanitary pads and a very crucial step towards promoting menstrual health and hygiene as well as empowering individuals to improve their livelihoods.
She stated:” We are passionate about empowering individuals especially women, girls, and the underprivileged with knowledge and skills they need to take control of their health and well-being.”

She expressed gratitude to the stakeholders, partners, and supporters, who made the launch possible, stating that their contributions had gone a long way in helping them achieved their goals.

The CEO, who also operates the Regjome Nursery and Primary School, as well as Regjome Comprehensive College, Tancha, kumba III Subdivision, assured the trainees that the training was just the beginning of the journey to equip them with valuable skills and knowledge.
“We are committed in providing you with a supportive and inclusive environment that will enable you to thrive,” she concluded.

During the training, participants worked together to make a difference in the community.
The trainees used the workshop to empower, support, and learn from each other.
It provided a productive and enriching experience to the trainees.
