I am the founder of REGJOME OUTREACH ASSOCIATION (ROA). The name REGJOME is a blend of my Parents names Regina and Joseph and my own Mercy. This association was birth as a living legacy to continue what my parents stood for but never formally documented,
Growing up, my father was so passionate about Education so much so that, without using words he thought me that education was not a thing to be left in the hands of the bearer of the child. He was of the opinion that the more children are educated and empowered with skills, the safer the community and the nation. He would go out of his way to help any child who saw the need of education and empowerment but had no one to help them.
My mother, though she had very little, would spare nothing just to help at the underprivileged in our community. When my father passed on to glory, we were still schooling then but had no one to help us. I felt what it was like to be in need without hopes.
Several thoughts came to my mind but I waved them to the gold of surving geniunely. Empowered myself and started petty businesses that worked to my favour. In my quiet times when I reflected on this thing called life, I understood the validity of my parents action and develop the believe that every hand must be on the duck to give access to educate and train children in our community if we actually want peace security to reign in our community
I founded REGJOME OUTREACH ASSOCIATION to keep this vision alive- to ensure No child is left out of school, No woman is left without dignity, and No community is left behind. The problem we address is simple but urgent. Children are dropping out of school because of poverty, lack of infrastructure, and gender inequalities. Women are under powered and communities are losing their potentials because of systemic neglect.
Our theory of change is to create safe schools, empower women and the underprivileged economically, Improve water and sanitation, and Reduce gender based violence, transforming schools and communities into inclusive thriving environment
Today we run affordable nursery, primary and comprehensive schools, build WASH facilities, Produce reusable sanitary pads for sustainability, and train women and youth for sustainable livelihoods.
